Greetings! Welcome to RobNLisa.net - the home page of Rob LoBue and Lisa Hoskins. We live in Mission Viejo, California with our pets Ninya and Kenny who pretty much run the home... It is a beautiful city of about 100,000 people located roughly halfway between LA and San Diego and a few miles from the Pacific.
I am originally from Selden New York and grew up in the 80's during the hey day of MTV (when they actually played music) and heavy metal. I was that guy with the long hair and the concert shirt! It was a crazy time and had a lot of fun growing up during that era. I graduated from Newfield HS in 1990 and soon was planning my escape from Long Island. In March of 1992, my brother and I packed everything we owned in a 5x8 trailer and headed for California. Our excellent timing had us arrive just in time to catch the LA riots, which made for some damn good TV as we locked ourselves in our apartment for several days. That first year was pretty brutal, we were living in a slum and were completely broke. But what doesn't kill you, makes you better! So now 15+ years later, it is hands-down the best decision I ever made.
During my free time, I manage VegasCasinoInfo.com, a Vegas information website which provides me a perfect excuse to run off to Vegas every couple of months for "research!" Since I managed to not ruin our credit and have a VERY nice wife, we try to go 5 or 6 times a year. When I'm not planning our next trip, I am always reading something Vegas-related. I also run MV-Weather.com, a website displaying real-time weather info from the top of our house. Via a Davis Weather Station with all the bells and whistles, data is updated every few seconds to the site as well as several other weather sources on the internet including WeatherUnderground.com.
I also love the NFL and NHL. I haven't missed a New York Jets game in years and now with the drafting of Mission Viejo's own Mark Sanchez, once again hope springs eternal in Jetland. I may see a championship in my lifetime! I try to watch as many Islander games as possible despite many years of dreadful performance. The young kids actually looked halfway decent towards the end of the season so maybe they can do something next year. As you can imagine, My DirecTV bill is ridiculous!
To pay the bills, I am the IT Operations Manager for State Street-IMS West. I have a staff of 13 and we are responsible for monitoring a network of 700 servers and over 1200 workstations in 10 offices worldwide, 24-7-365 for a trillion dollar investment manager.
Lisa was born and raised in Newport Beach CA. She is a 1990 grad of Newport Harbor High and also has a BA and Masters degree in Psychology from CSULB. She works as the Content Analyst for AEGIS, the AIDS Education Global Information System. It is the world's largest database of HIV/AIDS related information on the web. She scours the planet looking for every shred of AIDS news she can find, catalogs and archives it. It is an amazing collection of information.
Lisa and I met in 1993 through a mutual friend and we were friends for quite a while. At one point we were roommates for over a year before finally getting together in 1997. We were married on May 3, 2003 atop the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. Click here for the pictures!
